                                                                    before

after                                                      The objects on this picture are arranged to make the picture look like everything is in the right place. There are many rectangular shapes in the picture. I notice that the photographer used principles of design; putting emphasis on the main object and by using lots of lines on this picture. There are also patterns and proportions on the picture because of all the shapes and angles. To make this picture better, I cropped the guy on the left out to put even more emphasis on the main object. I also straightened the picture so that it would not look so crooked.

In this article I liked Rule 4 where it says to avoid the middle. I think this rule was useful because avoiding the middle makes the picture have more space for better backgrounds, instead of having just a dull center piece picture.

I liked the rule of patterns used in this article. There are many patterns of rectangular shapes and lines in this picture. Having patterns in the picture helps the picture show more depth and an order of piece.

This article explained how depth of field is important when taking a picture. It helps show more emphasis on the main object because it helps it stand out.

I like the leading lines rule in this article. The people in the background make this effect by making a line down the pathway towards the main subject.

I like how this article shows simplicity as an important rule of composition. The simplicity of this picture makes it look very real and not planned.

First Photo Outing - Principles of Design

This is my favorite picture that we took on our first outing. It meets the element of design called pattern.  This is pattern because of the rectangles in between the windows are repeating themselves. plus the lines or rides, are creating a plaid-like pattern.

Here is the link to the site of principles of design.
